Aerocade Music is an independent record label seeking to add exciting, modern, and even revolutionary perspectives to the contemporary classical, experimental, and electronic music landscape. To achieve this goal, Aerocade almost exclusively represents West Coast musicians with dynamic backgrounds. Having gathered a deep artistic roster, Aerocade Music label is celebrated for “quality,” “superb programming,” and “first-rate performances”. (Fanfare Magazine) Since its founding in 2015 by veteran contemporary flutist Meerenai Shim, Aerocade has released 13 albums. Aerocade believes that new music suffers not from an unequal talent pool, but from unequal representation. Thus, the label's artists typically have backgrounds underrepresented in geography, demographics, or both. A variety of media outlets have taken notice of Aerocade’s bold programming, including I Care If You Listen and Fanfare Magazine. Furthermore, albums released on the Aerocade label have received praise from music journalists both in the UK and across North America, including New York Music Daily, The Wire magazine, Gapplegate Classical-Modern Music Review, textura, Oregon Arts Watch, The Flute View, and Avant Music News, among others, and have also earned nods on numerous best-of lists, including Bandcamp’s "Best of Contemporary Classical" as well as Avant Music News’ end-of-year list. Aerocade Music is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
