About African Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest

The African Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest (ACCPN) was founded in January 1998, and its inaugural event, the First Annual Africa Day Business Forum, was held during the World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Meeting in November 1999. Over the past decade, ACCPN has firmly established itself as a pivotal resource facilitating business partnerships between Africa and the Pacific Northwest. ACCPN boasts strategic partnerships with government trade organizations, local non-profits, and a robust network within the regional business community. We serve as a valuable repository of information on U.S. and African trade policy and actively advocate for the recognition of Africa's growing trade potential. The Chamber maintains close collaboration with Congressman Jim McDermott, a prominent advocate for African trade and the author of the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA). Our membership primarily comprises African immigrants residing in the Pacific Northwest, many of whom are business owners keen on fostering commercial ties with their countries of origin. Additionally, we have a vibrant American membership interested in exploring trade and investment prospects in the diverse emerging markets across Africa.
