About African Scholars Association Ireland
The African Scholars Association Ireland (AFSAI) is a community of African PhD holders and PhD students in Ireland, founded in 2018. Our members represent a wide range of academic disciplines and professional backgrounds, united in our mission to contribute to the development of Africa, Ireland and global transformation. Our goal is to provide a platform where African scholars in Ireland can flourish academically and collaborate with companies. We believe that by fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge and expertise, and actively contributing to Africa and Ireland's progress, we can make a positive impact on the continent. At AFSAI, we offer a variety of opportunities for our members to engage and grow, including research collaborations, events, and workshops. We organize conferences, conversations, seminars, and other forms of scholarly interchange, focused on responding to contemporary issues affecting Africa, Africans in Ireland, and the world. We are dedicated to promoting the contribution and visibility of African scholars in Ireland by providing support to seek and identify opportunities for growth. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment for our members, which allows them to develop professionally, socially, and culturally. Our achievements include the successful hosting of various events, such as the Black History Month Celebrations, and the provision of scholarships to African students in Ireland.
