About Agewell

Agewell provides a range of services to help people aged 50 and over to get the most out of later life. We can help you, or someone you know, to be more active, more socially connected, healthier and happier. And you can help us by becoming a member of Agewell and joining like-minded individuals who are keen to help create a better life for other older people. Operational since 1998, Agewell has over 15 years’ experience of working with older people and helping them to get the most out of later life. Originally an initiative within the NHS and funded by Sandwell Primary Care Trust, in April 2013 we successfully spun out of the NHS and became Agewell CIC, a community interest company which is a type of social enterprise. This means that any surplus or profit we make is re-invested in the services we provide for older people, rather than being distributed to shareholders. We have a thriving membership of over 1300 older people, some of whom attend our monthly forums and volunteer their time to help others. Others are postal members . Everyone takes part in our consultation and engagement activities. It’s free to join Agewell and anyone aged 50 or over is welcome to become part of our friendly community. We also deliver a range of services to help individuals prepare for later life and to support those already in later life to become more active, more socially connected, healthier and happier. Later life can be a time of great opportunity and fun, but it’s important to think ahead and prepare yourself both physically and mentally - and the earlier you start the better. That’s why our services and membership is for anyone aged 50 and over.
