About Aggie Reuse Store

UC Davis' on campus, student-run thrift store. We were founded in 2011 as a graduate design project to help divert materials from the landfill, allowing for items that would have been thrown away to instead be donated to the store. In addition, our store was created with the intention of providing a low-cost alternative to college students, advocating the environmental and economic benefits of buying second-hand clothing, home goods, accessories, etc. instead of brand new items. Since our founding in 2011, we have undergone extensive changes and experienced positive growth. We moved from the Memorial Union to our current location behind the Bike Barn. We have expanded from less than 10 employees to over 50, with increasing opportunities for leadership and creativity! Our interns work within Marketing, Sales, Social Media, and Upcycling teams and can choose to get involved with internal events, video production and graphic design, inventory, or analytics as well. Our Upcycling, Marketing, and Sales teams have hosted craft and environmental awareness workshops, weekly informational tabling, and frequent in-store sales. We've also executed thrift-minded photoshoots and look-books, social media giveaways, monthly environmental campaigns, video series, donation drives, and more. Some highlights over our last few years include a workshop teaching community members how to sew and mend their own clothes, a concert called Spring Fling Jams to promote local artists, a yearly Picnic Day Extravaganza with sustainability-based activities, seasonal craft workshops and sales encouraging mindful consumption, and a fashion show called Colors of Summer showcasing second-hand and upcycled clothes made from gently used fabric and materials.
