About Agora Christian Services

Agora Christian Services, Inc. was created more than 20 years ago to radically change the world of the inner city child. Located in the heart of Columbus, Ohio, and just ½ mile west of the Statehouse, it is frequented by children and teens all over the city. but serves mostly those on the west side. We are a small community of people; more than 100 people who served here at one time are now spread out around the world. Ministry here attends to practical needs while not leaving the spiritual neglected. Many children and teens here have been broken by rejection or abandonment, abuse or molestation, or simply unloved and not cared for. Ministry to the children here is to simply be the kind of loving presence and encouragement that God created in each of us to be for one another. We serve approximately 250 young people. We work with children from 6 weeks old through 13 years of age six days a week. Our purpose is to nurture children from a very young age to know that they were created to be a gift from God and make a contribution to society that would bless everyone around them. Children are valued, protected, and blessed. Wednesday evenings are Bible Club, an outreach event wherein the children learn biblical values while being loved with the love of Christ. Saturday night is Kid’s Church. Children are fed a meal at each event and taught positive values. The focus is to be the love of Jesus Christ to the children. Religious can be vague, intangible, and abstract to most people, especially children. It is our goal to do all we can to ensure the practical application of core values which can be felt in the everyday needs presented by the inner city child. People who serve here have a common belief in Jesus Christ which motivates, shapes, and gives strength for the necessary tasks. We are a community of believers wherein kingdom work for the benefit of children is accomplished. Children are given opportunity to become.
