About AgriPod
AgriPod is a low-cost intervention to tackle fertiliser overuse in Northern India, delivering many positive economic and environmental benefits to farmers and society as a whole. Our project has received a great deal of support from various agri-tech companies and agricultural NGOs, as well as being awarded several accolades. Our device is essentially a small coffee-cup-sized sensor that collects information about the soil in farmer's fields in rural India. Once the pods are set up, they use solar panels for power and don’t need to be touched. Our servers algorithmically process this data to provide farmers with up-to-date SMS recommendations detailing the perfect time and conditions to apply fertiliser. This will both save them money and stops unused fertiliser damaging the environment.
