Agriculture + Iris Agriris - short for Agriculture and Iris, our 1 year old daughter, mascot and BIG why for eating better and starting a company to help others do the same! A few years back my husband (and co-founder) Eirik, struggled with his gut, allergies, headaches and fatigue, so he searched for answers everywhere. He researched Keto, Paleo, and went through a full Functional Medicine program to restore his gut, autoimmune system and health. THE KEY RECURRING FINDING Eat non-inflammatory, organic, therapeutic foods that restore health and balance over time. Since then our family has integrated therapeutic foods as a key part of our lifestyle! Let me introduce myself. I’m Anniken, 29 years old, mom to Iris, from Norway, and a plant scientist/ agronomist who is passionate about changing the way we grow and eat food. Unfortunately, the way most of the food is grown today is depleting the soil and often depends on chemical inputs like pesticides and fertilisers which are not good for nature OR our bodies. So, what better way to reduce the need for unsustainable agriculture than to get more people to grow their own food? Our mission is to help save the worlds food production and climate crisis by transforming how we produce and consume food. We believe in finding ways to eat better and at the same time improving our personal health and the health of our planet. We believe this is achievable by building high quality products that make it fun and easy to grow food at home whether you have a small garden or, and that last for years in constant use. By growing our own food, we not only get better control of what we are putting in our bodies, but in the process also cut the need for large industrial agriculture, cut food waste and feel more meaning.
