About AIJAC
The Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC) is Australia’s premier advocacy and think tank that works in the interests of Australia’s Jewish community and for a harmonious multicultural society that is free from extremism and fundamentalism. AIJAC analyses and provides media commentary on ongoing developments in the Middle East, Asia and Australia. AIJAC endeavours to highlight and counteract instances of anti-Israel bias and misinformation in the Australian media and wider public debate. AIJAC exposes incidents of racism and antisemitism in Australia, often acting in co-operation with other ethnic community organisations; AIJAC also regularly makes submissions to changes in federal and state law and educative measures to counteract the heinous effects of racism. AIJAC’s experts play important roles in international human rights activity, interfaith dialogue and increasing understanding of Israel and related issues. Some of AIJAC’s activities include a renowned visitor program, bringing international speakers to in-person and online events; a Fellowship program that annually sponsors visits to Israel by selected journalists, politicians, political advisers, public servants and student leaders; our monthly magazine, Australia/Israel Review, which focuses on developments in the Middle East affecting Israel and public policy issues relevant to the Australian Jewish community. Our Fresh AIR blog features the latest AIJAC articles, plus Update - our email bulletin - feature opinion and analysis sourced from a wide variety of international outlets.
