About AILAE
AILAE was a European based international non-profit organization, which aimed at promoting and establishing a strong relationship between European countries especially at cultural and artistic levels. AILAE was equally interested in the role that European culture plays in the world, especially in its relationship with the Australia Pacific regions. Exchange in this case was to be read primarily in the sense of facilitating a reciprocity dimension between the two regions. The AILAE was an itinerant, nomadic concept in that it aimed at building cultural events that saw Australian and European arts and languages in contact, facilitating such exchange without a centralized base. "Outside the Palace", out there and everywhere was the AILAE motto, indicating that it is there that learning, exchanges of language, arts and culture happen.
