The non profit was founded by Abdikhadar Shire, a former refugee, and an immigrant, to respond to the challenges and barriers immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers and BIPOC communities face in Maine. our approach is to identify needs in the community based on needs assessments conducted by AK Health and Social services from the community and develop programs to meet the needs of our target population.
