About AKESO holding
Ing. Sotirios Zavalianis, 100% owner of AKESO holding a.s. was born in Greece and in 1984 arrived to contemporary Czechoslovakia to study University of Economics. After various entrepreneurship attempts in different fields, he entered health care as a co-owner of Mediscan Group in Prague. In 2002, he founded a radiology center Multiscan Pardubice and in 2007, through privatization process, acquired hospitals in Beroun and Hořovice. Today, Hořovice Hospital is more than a regular regional hospital. It operates a wide range of outpatient and consultation clinics linked to different inpatient departments. Among others, it operates the largest obstetrics department in the Region of Central Bohemia. In 2014, the hospital opened the first department of chronic resuscitation and intensive care for children in the Czech Republic and the local neonatal ward received the status of perinatology center. The IBD Center of Hořovice Hospital today provides treatment for 30% of patients with Crohn's disease in the Czech Republic. Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital treated 6742 inpatients last year and is one of the most respected facilities of its kind not only in the Czech Republic. Besides others, it currently has a modern Medical Department and Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Department of Follow-up Care, Dr. Jan Calta Rehabilitation Center and the Arthroscopic Center. Multiscan Pardubice, which is part of the Complex Oncology Center of Pardubice Region, is today one of the top providers in the field in prostate and breast cancer treatment.
