About Akro Valve Limited
Akro Valve was founded in 1983 in Westham, East Sussex and quickly established a market position in flow control valves as it became the UK distributor for the Maric flow control system. Continuing to develop its credentials in water saving technologies, Akro Valve in partnership with several international aid agencies developed the water distribution tap stand, with the robust water saving Akro Quick Stop Tap. By 1998 Akro Valve had outgrown its premises in Westham and moved 3 miles up the road to its current premises in Polegate, East Sussex. In 2000 Akro Valve expanded its business to support the water industry with the supply of pipe fittings and tools for the repair and maintenance of the water distribution networks. It has developed relationships with many of the regional water authorities and supporting contractors for the supply of pipe equipment and essentials. Today it maintains its role as a well-located supplier of water distribution fixtures, fittings and tools for the regional water industry. Akro Valve is a family owned British manufacturing and supply business and is an East Sussex Industry Champion which supports engineering outreach and engineering education programs in the county. It considers water conservation as a core social responsibility of the 21st Century and that is committed water efficiency and the protection of the environment.
