About ALA Studio

Formerly known as Alda Ly Architecture, ALA Studio is a full service architecture and interior design firm that emphasizes deep listening and hands-on collaboration with clients throughout the design process. Founded in 2017 by Alda Ly, our NYC-based studio serves clients worldwide who are looking to rethink traditional hospitality, health and wellness, workplace, and retail spaces, whether they are established organizations or startups and entrepreneurs. We are proudly a certified Minority & Woman-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) in NYC and NY state. While our projects range in scale and type, they all share our signature - a minimalist and playful design vocabulary that seamlessly combines comfort, wellness, usability, smart planning and fresh interior design concepts. Working closely with our clients, we identify goals and challenges to be addressed through design. Our process begins with a discovery phase where we do a deep dive to get to know our clients, from branding review to user and market research, such as interviews and workshops, to understand their identity, values, experiences, desires and needs. This ethnographic research becomes the basis of programming and functionality, and later informs the development of our design concepts for each project. For us, each project is an opportunity to create a custom solution, be it in a recognized typology or giving form to services and business models that have few spatial precedents. We pride ourselves on delivering outcomes that balance budget, schedule and requirements while maintaining the quality of the end user’s experience.
