About Alabama Holocaust Education Center
Established in 2002, the AHEC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to Holocaust remembrance and education throughout the state of Alabama. By preserving and sharing the stories of Holocaust survivors and commemorating the lives of those who perished, the AHEC promotes an ethical response to contemporary instances of antisemitism, bigotry, and indifference. In addition to our onsite museum, the AHEC offers a wealth of resources to students & educators. We connect learners in all stages of life with qualified speakers, including Holocaust survivors. We are home to one of the largest libraries of Holocaust-related materials in the Southeast, with over 3,000 books and DVDs devoted to the Holocaust, the history of antisemitism, World War II, and related subjects.
