ALABARÉ was founded out of the simple act of providing a place of safety for one homeless man, Bob. For over 35 years, ALABARÉ has supported more than 40,000 people through over 80 homes across the South West of England and Wales. Founded in faith and compassion, we go beyond ending homelessness – we break its cycle. We believe everyone deserves not just shelter, but healing, purpose, and community. Our dedicated team of colleagues and volunteers tackle root causes like trauma, poverty, and isolation, empowering people to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. Together, we provide homes, restore hearts, and empower minds. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to thrive, not just survive. Our approach is simple: before someone can focus on things like relationships, confidence, or personal growth, they need the basics – a safe place to sleep, food to eat, and a sense of security. Homelessness strips away that foundation. When you don’t know where you’ll be sleeping tonight, it’s almost impossible to think about getting a job, reconnecting with family, or planning for the future. That’s where our focus on Homes, Hearts, Minds comes in. We don’t just offer a roof over someone’s head; we walk alongside them as they rebuild their lives. It’s about dignity, hope, and believing that change is possible.
