About Alamo City Cancer Council
The Alamo City Cancer Council (ACCC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in San Antonio, Texas. The ACCC is committed to providing education, resources, and services for any project that supports the cause of the eradication of cancer. Our members are representatives from organizations in Bexar County that focus on the needs of individuals afflicted with cancer: American Cancer Society, Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, San Antonio Affiliate, and SLEW (Support Lending for Emotional Wellbeing). We believe that by pooling the talents of these organizations we can provide a more effective and valuable service. The vision of the ACCC is to reduce disparities within the diverse populations of Texas by providing information about cancer and cancer-related services. We aim to increase access to information needed to make informed decisions and reach underserved populations. Primarily, we serve the residents of Bexar County, Texas, and are building a collaborative network throughout Texas, with the goal of sharing our educational materials and promoting their distribution in other Texas communities. We provide free, monthly educational seminars about cancer and associated health topics to the public in Bexar County, Texas, and plan to extend our impact by networking with other organizations in Texas.
