Alan Ross Haynes writes, performs, and records Country Folk, Rockabilly, Bluegrass, Folk Rock, and New Thought Christian music. He has written over 150 songs; has 3 full- length, mastered, professional CDs; 3 singles; and over 100 demos. His music has been played on several NPR stations, and was featured on the nationally syndicated show “Car Talk” with his song “Disaster on Wheels.” He has had songs included on 3 compilations produced by the Road Show Records label. He has been featured on innumerable internet radio stations. His music has been featured on broadcast radio shows from New York to New Zealand. Alan is a member of emPower Music and Arts and The Folk Alliance. He is a former member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International. He has performed with high level performers, including David Roth, Karen Taylor-Goode, Jana Stanfield, Dick Kniss (bass player for Peter, Paul, and Mary and John Denver), Fred Bogert (grammy-nominated producer), Steve Gillette (uncountable Grammy awards), Susan Kroupa-Riley; Greg Greenway, Richard Mekdeci, Penny Nichols, Sloan Wainwright, Scott Ainslie, Vito Petrocito, and many others. Alan began playing the trumpet at age 10, the guitar at age 11; added baritone and tuba, and started singing in church choirs as a young teenager. He took private lessons and performed in state competitions. He began taking music conducting classes and music theory classes in junior high and high school , where he also sang in the concert choir and a madrigal group. He formed a folk group at Leto High School that performed in central Florida and on local television programs. He performed with his brother Charlie and in folk rock groups in the 1970s and 1980s. He performed from 2000-2006 with the Clearwater Unity Band; in NY 2006-2007 with Holland, Haynes, Thompson, and Tooch; in 2007 -2008 as the duo, Holland and Haynes; and in 2009 as the director of the Unity Church of Charlotte, NC.
