About Alaska Community Action on Toxics
Alaska Community Action on Toxics (ACAT) is a statewide environmental health and justice organization. ACAT was founded in 1997 in response to requests for assistance from Alaskans concerned about the impacts of toxic pollution from military and industrial activities. Driven by a core belief in environmental justice, ACAT empowers communities to eliminate exposure to toxics through collaborative research, shared science, education, organizing, and advocacy. We work at the intersection of environmental justice, reproductive justice, environmental health, Indigenous rights, and human rights.
