Alatus Capital is an institutional investment manager based in Geneva, Switzerland. Founded in 2007, Alatus’ focus is on long-term capital preservation and appreciation via investments in International public equities, with a focus on Europe. Alatus invests in a concentrated, high-conviction portfolio of ~15 positions with an investment horizon of 3-5 years, and potentially longer. A disciplined, bottom-up, free-cash-flow based approach to securities valuation and selection is applied, and combined with Private Equity-like independent market research and competitive analysis. Portfolio companies generate strong, visible and growing free cash flow, and enjoy sustainable barriers to entry to value added niches, leading to high and defensible returns on capital. We enter positions at attractive equity FCF yields, and seek to identify upcoming inflections in FCF to achieve significant capital appreciation. The Firm invests in companies that are steered by strong management teams, whose interests are aligned to shareholders’, and where quality corporate governance practices are in place. The team regularly engages in open-ended and constructive dialogues with the management teams of our portfolio companies. Alatus will seek to drive outcomes via activism when deemed appropriate. The Firm’s AuM have steadily grown over the years, thanks to the support of endowments, foundations, pension funds and large family offices that are now invested alongside the Partners and employees. Alatus has built a unique franchise in International equities and long lasting relationships with high-quality institutional investors. Alatus is an investment manager regulated and authorized by FINMA and is registered with the SEC as an investment adviser. The firm is a signatory of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI).
