Albasoft is a health informatics company located in Inverness, Scotland Since our inception in 1997 and incorporation in 2002 Albasoft has built a reputation for providing “Trusted Third Party” TTP services to the health and associated sectors. In todays challenging Big Data environment transferring sensitive information between organisations can be a complex procedure particularly where exposure to related information can conflict with organisations governance and confidentiality procedures. In many cases the information required is embedded in large legacy databases and cannot be extracted simply without exposing sometimes highly sensitive information to the receiving party and possibly breaching the data protection act. The resolution is to appoint a trusted third party with both the technical skills and secure environment to extract the information and act as an “honest broker” between both parties to ensure that only the approved information is transferred. The basic requirements of a TTP is that it must have no interest in the information it processes, either directly or through related activities. This ensures that exposure to sensitive information is minimised and both the organisation and individuals confidentiality is respected.
