The Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association (ARTA) is a vibrant organization made up of over 30,000 retired educators and like-minded professionals. Created by teachers in 1963, we are an Alberta-based not-for-profit linked by a common purpose – to ensure a healthy, active, engaged, and vibrant lifestyle for our members in their retirement. We operate seventeen local branches in Alberta and one in British Columbia. Our Mission is to help members lead an active lifestyle after retirement through member-centered services, advocacy, communication, wellness, and leadership. Our Services and Benefits include: • the ARTA Benefit Plans, offering health, travel, and dental insurance plans; • ARTARx, one of Canada's first plan-owned pharmacies; • news&views, a quarterly magazine, and ARTAfacts, an e-newsletter published twelve times per year; • the ARTA Perks discount program offers discounts on retail, travel, entertainment, recreation, wellness, apparel, and automotive services; • home, auto, life, and travel insurance; • advocacy on seniors’ issues; • scholarships for family members; and so much more.
