About ALEAN

The Airport Law Enforcement Agencies Network (ALEAN) is a non-profit professional association that supports law enforcement agencies engaged in airport policing, both domestically and internationally. ALEAN advocates with Federal and other governing agencies, providing a unified voice to improve the efficiency and relevance of airport law enforcement activities. Additionally, ALEAN facilitates information sharing, offers training, and provides other benefits outlined below. ALEAN opens the door to network with other airport police departments to exchange information, ideas and training. Our Command group is dedicated to representing the needs and concerns of airport law enforcement to government entities, ensuring that emerging security challenges are promptly identified and addressed. We collaborate closely with other aviation support organizations to present a unified voice in discussions with the TSA and other government agencies, thereby enhancing security measures across airports. Our Intel group provides information on the latest criminal activity and unique solutions that have been effective in countering that activity. The Intel group holds monthly virtual meetings where investigators can share best practices and crime trends in a collaborative environment. Our conferences provide training and briefings on current aviation and security-related topics; case studies on incidents that have occurred at airports; and updates from our federal partners. Our survey tool leverages a robust network of airport law enforcement agencies to benchmark best practices, planning, equipment, and personnel. Our secure website catalogs past survey results as well as other airport LEO documents for review.
