About AliquantumRx
AliquantumRx Inc. (AQR) is a start-up based in Maryland. Our primary focus is on developing Cethromycin, a macrolide antibiotic, for groundbreaking therapeutic applications. From addressing liver-stage (dormant, vivax) malaria to combating tick-borne diseases, bioterror threats, and antibiotic-resistant infections, our mission is to tackle some of the most pressing health challenges of our time. At AliquantumRx, we envision a world where there are no more malaria deaths. Our Focus Areas: • Liver-Stage Malaria: We are developing Cethromycin to target dormant stages of vivax malaria, with the goal of significantly improving treatment outcomes and eradication efforts. • Tick-Borne Diseases: Our research extends to combating Babesiosis, a disease transmitted by ticks, offering new hope for those affected. • Bioterrorism Threats: We are working to address serious bioterrorism threats, including inhalation anthrax, tularemia, and plague, by advancing our antibiotic’s efficacy in these critical areas. • Antibiotic Resistance: In an era of rising antibiotic resistance, our work aims to provide solutions for bacterial infections resistant to existing treatments. Our Story: Founded by Nik Kaludov, PhD and David Sullivan, MD AliquantumRx emerged from a deep-rooted collaboration and a shared commitment to addressing global health challenges. Our project was initially funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and TEDCO’s Maryland Innovative Initiative, with additional support from the Johns Hopkins Malaria Research Institute, NIH, and The Bloomberg Family Foundation.
