Allegheny Valley Winlectric, opening its doors in 2005, has the tools needed to get your job done right with the family touch you want. Jim Posney, President, has been in the electrical wholesale business since 1975. He comes from a family full of electrical wholesalers. His father, Thomas A. Posney, operated Posney Electric in Tarentum from 1957 until 1982. Jim went off on his own business venture becoming the branch manager of Gerome Electric Supply in Tarentum from 1982-1992. In 1992, Jim ventured into business with Brown & Powell Electric, becoming the Allegheny Valley branch manager for a well-established name in the Pittsburgh market. After Brown & Powell’s closure in 2005, Jim was able to buy into the "WinWay" and become a president. In 2012, Jim hired his son, Camden, as a warehouse / delivery associate. After Cam finished his time at Waynesburg University, Cam moved into a sales role in the company. After 3 years in sales, he has found his position as the Operations Manager and works closely managing operations with his father on a day-to-day basis. His goal is to become the next President of AV Winlectric and continue the Posney tradition.
