About Alliance Française of Johannesburg
The Alliance Française of Johannesburg was created in 1950 and was the second Alliance Française to open in South Africa after the Alliance Française of Durban was founded in 1936. The Alliance Française of Johannesburg is a South African non-profit and public benefit organisation. Our mission is to promote the French language as well as cultural diversity. We do it through a wide course offer including French, isiZulu and Portuguese. Our cultural program highlights the works of French and francophone artists as much as South African artists. Since 1994, the Alliance of Johannesburg has been operating in front of the Zoo Lake Park, in a lovely eco-friendly architectural building.
