About Aloha Autonomy
Originally started to commercialize algorithms intended for landing on the moon, Aloha Autonomy is a Hawai'i-based company developing the next generation of autonomy algorithms to enable the full autonomy of a system. Traditional Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems are able to enable semi-autonomy of a system, by providing a feedback loop to guide a vehicle to a certain target. However, in order to enable the full autonomy, which Aloha Autonomy defines as the ability for a system to retarget automatically, onboard, in real time, a new approach is needed. Aloha Autonomy is developing a new theoretical framework called Cognitive Targeting Guidance, Navigation, and Control (Cognitive TGNC) to leverage a system from semi-autonomous to fully autonomous. We believe that by providing dedicated Algorithms as a Service (AaaS), Aloha Autonomy can reduce the barrier to entry for firms requiring specialized software for their operations. From making GNC more accessible to providing optimization engines for variable state constraints, Aloha Autonomy seeks to show some aloha, and provide easier access to research-level algorithms. Aloha Autonomy provides a wide variety of algorithm development, including integrated GNC schemes, optimization algorithms, and flight mechanics algorithms. Aloha Autonomy is developing a general solution to full autonomy. Aloha Autonomy has been awarded two subscriptions from the Space Domain Awareness Tools, Applications, and Processing Lab (SDA TAP Lab) for predicting the ascent trajectories of launch vehicles and associating launch nominals with airspace and sea lane closures. These tools can be used for UCT processing and missile tracking. In addition to this, Aloha Autonomy is developing other Algorithms as a Service (AaaS) modules for the SDA TAP Lab, including a tool which predicts engagement opportunities for Direct Ascent Anti-Satellite (DA-ASAT) weapons, and a tool which characterizes on-orbit maneuvers.
