Alpha Laboratories is a family-run laboratory and diagnostic supplies business based in Eastleigh, Hampshire, UK and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2015. Since 1975 we have helped scientists to improve the health of the nation by sourcing and supplying specialist products from leading worldwide manufacturers. In addition the company has developed its own brand lines of essential laboratory consumables such as the high quality Pastette® transfer pipettes, eco friendly Fastrak® pipette tips and SpeciSafe® UN3373 compliant sample packaging. Our wide range of liquid handling pipettes, sample tubes, microtubes, microplates, PCR and general lab consumables, plus molecular biology equipment, ensure top performance in the laboratory. Alpha Laboratories supports clinical laboratories with an extensive array of diagnostic assays, reagents and equipment. These cover blood grouping, gastroenterology, clinical chemistry, haematology, haemostasis and immunology testing, plus consumables for sample collection and transport . We are highly experienced in faecal calprotectin testing to distinguish between IBD and IBS. We also provide Faecal Occult Blood testing materials to Bowel Cancer Screening Programmes nationwide and are involved in the transition to the use of more specific and sensitive Faecal Immunochemical Tests (FIT). Alpha Laboratories is also promoting the use of specialist assays such as new Rapid Pathogen ID technology that could vastly improve the speed of targeted treatment for sepsis.
