Altanetica offers a new vision for Wireless Internet access and content delivery technology. Until now, wireless fixed network service meant lower capacity and speed, as well as many technical limitations. Altanetica offers equivalent or superior performance to wired fixed networks with a much lower CAPEX. This implies a higher return on investment, higher margins and higher ARPU. First phase of the project Altanetica is the first operator to offer very high-speed Internet access up to 40 Mb symmetrical, over radio, at very competitive prices. Altanetica has developed technology that allows it to offer consistent high performance service throughout its network, using both inexpensive infrastructure and equipment, and the free frequency bands allocated for Wi-Fi service. To achieve this performance level, Altanetica uses standard, inexpensive industry equipment, with its own proprietary firmware and software. Also, the network and billing management system is designed to monitor and automatically improve performance, responding to different environmental situations such as interference, noise, busy channels, etc. It can also provide real time performance data for each individual access point, simplifying the diagnostics and repair of any customer level problems. Second phase of the project With the experience acquired while developing its network, Altanetica has identified specific areas of technological development that can position the company as the most advanced supplier of networks and equipment for high performance Wi-Fi networks. The first phase has demonstrated what Altanetica’s technology can do with standard equipment, antennae and crowded free frequencies. In the second phase, Altanetica plans to go one step further by developing its own solutions, to maintain its leadership in the development of very high performance Wi-Fi networks while at the same time simplifying the large-scale deployment of those networks around the world.
