About Altex Energy

Altex is a rail terminal and logistics company. Working closely with Canadian National Railway, we pioneered the idea of moving Western Canadian produced heavy oil and bitumen to market in railcars without adding expensive and volatile condensate. Moving oil to market without condensate has safety and other benefits and is substantially more economic benefitting the sellers (producers) of Western Canadian heavy oil and the purchasers (refiners) of that oil. We have helped customers move oil from western Canadian to markets all across Canada and North America but also globally. At our strategically-located terminals, we do move crude oil but also a number of other products which are either produced or consumed around our terminal locations. Included among those products is chemicals, refined products and waste streams - in addition, we are actively involved in energy transition products such as renewable diesel using our terminal and logistic assets, experience and expertise to accelerate the production of sustainable fuels and products for the changing world. We complement our terminal and logistic services with value-add services including emulsion treating, oil aggregation, oil storage, railcar storage, and railcar repairs. Our focus is providing services to our customers that help them make more money. We do this by being an industry leader in technology that optimizes efficiency and by a customer-focused mindset.
