About Altin Village & Mine

Altin Village & Mine is a boutique record label with no genre restrictions giving visionary artists from different creative disciplines the possibility of exposure. We like to explore new spaces along with a critical and forward thinking attitude towards existing circumstances. Most recently the following artists represent our idea of »Free/Future/Music«: The Kenya-based duo Odd Okoddo—much like on their acclaimed debut it again sees percussionist Sven Kacirek (marimba, vibraphone, prepared piano percussion, drums) subtly accentuate and complement his partner Olith Ratego’s unique take on the folk music of the Luo people. Hjirok is a fictional character by Iranian-born Kurdish singer Hani Mojtahedy. Together with versatile music producer Andi Toma of Mouse on Mars, she combined a variety of sounds collected during their joint travels to Iraqi Kurdistan and elsewhere with heavily processed recordings of Sufi drum rhythms and setar melodies. Teichmann + Soehne is a collaboration between the Gebrüder Teichmann and their 82 years old father, the versatile jazz artist and multi-instrumentalist Uli Teichmann. Across different generations, between different musical ideas and genres, into previously uncharted territory. Cloud Management is a project concerned with processes and progress. The trio has tirelessly expanded upon its sound and embracing modern dub music in collaboration with Peaking Lights' Aaron Coyes. Ever-changing, constantly surprising and consistently in motion. In the past we've worked with international artists such as Future Islands, Deerhoof, Xiu Xiu, Chad Van Gaalen, and Phoebe Killdeer—who did a stunning collaboration with the portuguese actress Maria de Medeiros. Furthermore we released records for outstanding german artists like Die Goldenen Zitronen, Von Spar, The Robocop Kraus, Fenster, and Map.ache.
