Always in Vogue was born from a mind that never believed in ‘GOOD ENOUGH’. Benny Friedman began training under master furriers in Montreal, Quebec in 1950 at just 15 years old. In those days, everything was done carefully, meticulously; each and every piece was crafted mostly by hand. In June 1963, Benny opened the first Always in Vogue store at 336 Charlotte Street Sydney, Nova Scotia. When you’re selling quality, word travels quickly, and it wasn’t long before customers were traveling from all over Atlantic Canada to purchase a garment from Always in Vogue. In October 1983, Benny Friedman opened the doors to St. John's Newfoundland and Labrador. It was right around this time that Always in Vogue began working with a new material --- one well known and adored by Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans --- Sealskin. In 1990, under the leadership of Bernie Halloran, Always in Vogue started its unprecedented international expansion- Reaching to new markets in China and around the world. These days, Always in Vogue is still synonymous with quality, still known for luxury and still respected for outstanding service. Even though the company has expanded dramatically, one thing hasn’t changed: every product is still made carefully, meticulously; each and every piece is still crafted mostly by hand.
