About Alzheimer's Student Alliance at IU
The Alzheimer's Student Alliance at Indiana University is a university organization that strives to raise funds and spread awareness to battle Alzheimer’s Disease. Alzheimer’s Disease is a progressive illness that gradually deteriorates one’s memory, as well as one’s physical and mental functions. As reported by the Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States with more than 5 million people across the country already diagnosed. This devastating illness costs family caregivers over $5,000 a year and kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. The Alzheimer’s Student Alliance will be hosting a variety of events throughout the school year to fundraise as well as volunteer our time to help struggling Alzheimer’s patients. To stay up to date on the latest news, please like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and visit our website at alzsa.com to learn more about how you can help. Even though millions of Americans are losing their memory each day because of Alzheimer’s Disease, we will never forget that we can fight this disease together.
