About Aman Lara

Established on August 16, 2021, as a federally incorporated Canadian nonprofit and non-governmental organization, Aman Lara emerged in response to the escalating security and humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. Since then, our work has evolved into a broader, global commitment — providing safe passage, protection, and pathways to opportunity for refugees, displaced individuals, and those at risk. Now, as a registered Canadian charity, we are deepening that commitment by building lasting solutions that go beyond crisis response — empowering those we serve to rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose. MORE THAN RESPONSE Aman Lara’s work is grounded in six approved charitable purposes and executed through four strategic program pillars and two supporting pillars. This framework ensures alignment between our mission, legal obligations as a registered charity, and the long-term impact we aim to achieve. Our four program pillars — Safe Passage, Economic Empowerment, Advocacy & Systemic Change, and Education & Capacity Building — reflect the breadth of our charitable mandate, from life-saving evacuations to long-term integration and systemic reform. Each pillar includes a growing portfolio of current and emerging initiatives, some of which are already operational, while others are in development pending funding and partnership. Veteran-founded and led, Aman Lara brings a disciplined, empathetic, and service-driven lens to humanitarian response — a model that has earned the trust of governments, NGOs, and communities alike. Our structure ensures flexibility and responsiveness, allowing us to evolve with shifting global crises while maintaining clarity in purpose and accountability to our stakeholders.
