About Amatynas

Amatynas is an open workshop of experimental archaeology and the reconstruction of archaeological findings. It’s a museum of ancient crafts and items, where a visitor can touch, feel, try crafting himself and experience ancient technologies hands on. At Amatynas the visitor has opportunity to familiarise with experimental archaeology and ancient craft technologies. It’s “experiential workshop” where visitors can themselves make copies of archaeological findings (glass beads, leather goods, flint items, felt and more). Gallery | Workshop is located in unique XVI century Vilnius old town cellar on Karmelitų str. Amatynas also hosts cultural, educational and experiential events including concerts of archaic music, open lectures and workshops, periodical educational classes for pupils, specialised lectures for students of Vilnius university faculty of history. Amatynas is founded by EAK Pajauta.
