About Ambulance Provident Fund Limited
The Ambulance Provident Fund was formed in 1981 at the Annual Ambulance Officers Convention by a group of officers who were concerned for the financial security of their families in the case of their unexpected death. We all like to think of reaching old age and achieving our life-long goals, whatever they may be. Unfortunately, all too often, life is cut short; motor vehicle accidents, terminal illness and fatal heart attacks can strike any of us at any time. When a death occurs, unexpected financial burdens can arise within a family. The fund is designed to bridge the financial gap that can occur when the main income earner or their spouse/partner suddenly dies. Often bank accounts and other assets are frozen and regular income may cease, making it difficult to meet expenses and family requirements until superannuation and life assurance entitlements are finalised. All permanent full time and permanent part time employees (including non-uniformed) of the Ambulance Service of New South Wales and their spouses/partners are eligible for membership* (*conditions apply). The Ambulance Provident Fund is a Company Limited by Guarantee. To join you must be a staff member of NSW Ambulance or their family, however, the Company is totally independent. It is in no way connected to the NSW Ambulance Service, NSW Health or the NSW State Government.
