Through the process of teaching and learning, the American College of Music endeavors to achieve the following: • To assist students to understand the history, philosophy and instruction of music. • To empower students to experience the ineffability of performance, facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and recognize the meaning of aesthetics. • To promote learner-centered pedagogy, critical thinking, and problem solving as the framework for personal development. • To create a musical community that is rich with cultural, social, and intellectual diversity. Authorization: American College of Music is a private institution approved to operate by the Arizona Board for Private Postsecondary Education (AZPPSE). Approval to operate means compliance with state standards as set forth in Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S. §32-3001).
