About American Indian Community Development Corporation

The American Indian Community Development Corporation provides culturally unique initiatives, housing, and entrepreneurial programs that strengthen American Indian communities. Withdrawal Management: AICDC has served as the provider for Hennepin County Chemical Withdrawal / Detoxification Services since 2002. The facility is located at 1800 Chicago Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN. With over 7,000 persons admitted each year* services include withdrawal management, chemical health assessment and referral, mental health referrals, in-house support groups and other referrals based on specific needs of our clients. Homeless Services: During the COVID-19 pandemic AICDC provided basic services to over 11,600 homeless individuals at its mobile Hygiene Services Area and KOLA Overnight Drop-in Center. In August 2020, AICDC raised $7.7 million for the acquisition, rehabilitation and operation of Homeward Bound Temporary Living facility at 2012 Cedar Ave South in Minneapolis. This 50-bed, 24-hour, emergency shelter provides the region’s first homeless shelter targeted to American Indians. AICDC has been the Twin Cities primary American Indian Developer since its inception in 1992. AICDC believes in a sustainability model for all of its developments. AICDC is conservative in its approach, always keeping its mission at the forefront of all programming, planning, and development. Many Rivers Group LLC - Real Estate Company: To help make homeownership a reality, AICDC created Many Rivers Group, LLC, a culturally sensitive real estate company aimed at closing that homeownership gap. To increase homeownership opportunities for American Indian families. To foster the development of life skills, such as household budgeting, financial management, and home maintenance. To foster community development by strengthening the social and economic bonds of Native communities through increased homeownership.
