Once upon a time running hospitals was about running a system, adding value to patients, doing right by patients … Thanks to the latest changes in the entire hospital Value Chain the focus has moved to quicker turnaround of patients, more often than not unfortunate focus on only revenue, secondary focus on patients as the doctor and all hospital resources are asked to dedicate their time to quicker turnaround of patients(and focus on volume) while hiding inefficiencies in the document collection, coding, business office processes that have resulted in lower overall collections, longer periods for collection which have necessitated higher finance costs for the hospitals causing a deathly spiral of financing costs that have resulted in closure of several hospital systems. Our focus at American Medical Services is to give hospitals a fighting chance to survive, run more efficient back office processes in the revenue cycle space and ensure hospital staff are more focused on the care of patients. We achieve the above by providing several solutions to hospitals on an on-demand basis ranging from on-site staffing, remote as well as full outsourcing of departments such as coding.
