About American Music Therapy Association for Students (AMTAS)
AMTAS was officially founded in 1996 following the unification of NAMT and AAMT. From the beginning, AMTAS’ mission has been to create a community for music therapy students, cultivate and disseminate resources for music therapy students, interns, and new professionals, and advocate for both the field of music therapy and for students within the field of music therapy. AMTAS continues this mission today by uplifting student research during our yearly Passages, providing annual scholarships through our STARS program, cultivating resources via our blog, social media, and conferences, and thoughtfully crafting a community for music therapy students nationwide.
