About American University of Armenia
The American University of Armenia (AUA) is a private, independent university located in Yerevan, Armenia, affiliated with the University of California, and accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission in the United States. As an institution of higher learning, AUA provides local and international students with Western-style education through top-quality undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs, promotes research and innovation, encourages civic engagement and community service, and fosters democratic values. The University was established in 1991 by the Armenian General Benevolent Union, the University of California, and the Republic of Armenia. AUA provides undergraduate degrees in Business, English and Communications, Computer Science, Engineering Sciences, and Data Science. These programs are offered as part of a liberal arts education to assure that all AUA graduates are knowledgeable and well-rounded individuals who can think critically and creatively, learn independently, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively with people from different cultures and disciplines. AUA offers graduate degrees in nine fields of study: Business Administration, Industrial Engineering and Systems Management, Computer and Information Science, Political Science and International Affairs, Economics, Public Health, Law, Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and Strategic Management.
