About Americare Hospice & Palliative Care
Americare Hospice & Palliative Care is a Catholic organization dedicated to serving people of all faiths. We are uniquely owned and locally operated by a family of Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses. State-licensed and Medicare-certified, we offer our comprehensive services Valley wide. We have consistently proven our outstanding performance with 100% deficiency-free routine surveys by Medicare and the Arizona Department of Health Services since our inception in 2005, demonstrating our compliance with the rules and regulations that promote excellent clinical standards. Our conscientious approach to end-of-life care is based on moral and ethical principles that uphold the value of human life at every stage as outlined by the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. We also engage with the National Catholic Bioethics Center as a resource for adhering to ethical guidelines. Our goal is to support the patient and the family through the natural process of dying. We augment the care of the primary caregivers and serve as a support system to those caring for loved ones with a life-limiting illness. Our actions are driven by the philosophy of treating the patients’ holistic needs: mind, body and spirit. Americare Hospice & Palliative Care owns and operates, The Villa, a six-bed Hospice Inpatient Unit designed to meet the needs of patients and their families in a deinstitutionalized, home-like environment. Although The Villa is available mainly to patients requiring short-term intensive care for symptoms unmanageable at home, it is also appropriate for patients approaching the end-stage of their illness. Hospice patients can also stay at The Villa for 5 days under Respite Care to provide relief or rest for family and caregivers. Skilled care is provided by a hospice team of dedicated, compassionate professionals.
