About Amplify Fund
Amplify Fund envisions a reality where historically marginalized people and communities maintain and build decision-making power toward economic justice, land justice, holistic well-being, and human dignity. To make progress towards this vision, the Amplify Fund has two goals: 1. To nurture and strengthen the conditions necessary for historically marginalized people to maintain and build decision-making power, and 2. To shift where, to whom, and how philanthropy provides support. As a place-focused, pooled fund, Amplify Fund does grantmaking in eight places: Missouri, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, and California through a partnership with the Fund for an Inclusive California. We selected the following places for our grantmaking because of the exciting power building work led by historically marginalized communities; the presence of power building groups focused on economic justice, land justice, holistic well-being, and human dignity; the relative absence of national philanthropy; and, the potential to mobilize local philanthropic dollars In each place, we follow the guidance of local advisors, and the wisdom of those with lived-experience, to develop context-specific strategies.
