About AmpSurf
AmpSurf™ is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to Promote, Inspire, Educate, and Rehabilitate (PIER) all people with disabilities and their families through therapeutic adaptive surfing and other outdoor activities. AmpSurf operates through 4 chapters in the United States located in; California, New England, New York and the Pacific Northwest. These chapters have been developed to reach the one in five Americans living with a life-long disability, including Children, adults, Veterans, First Responders and those that come to us from around the world. These Men, Women and children are looking for ways to feel whole again and to live life to their fullest potential. Whether they are an amputee, visually impaired, suffer from PTS (post traumatic stress), or have quadriplegia. Whether they served in Vietnam, the Gulf war, Iraq or Afghanistan, or the streets of New York. Whether they are an autistic child or a young woman who has lost a limb to cancer, AmpSurf™ offers a unique all inclusive program to bring the healing power of the ocean through adaptive surf therapy to these individuals for an experience that is both mentally and physically rewarding. AmpSurf™ has provided our Adaptive Learn to Surf program to thousands of disabled veterans, Since 2003 AmpSurf™ has been providing our Learn to Surf Therapy Clinics to serve those who need us. We have served thousands of Disabled Veterans, First Responders, disabled adults and children who probably never would have had this experience if it hadn’t been for our program. We are a host program for the VA Summer Sports Clinics, an LA 2028 Program Partner, the co-creator with the ISA of the only Adaptive Surfing Instructor certification in the world, and host of the 2021 World Para Surfing Championships at Pismo Beach, CA.
