Specialties We are highly experienced in a wide variety of techniques. Many clients come seeking deep tissue work, myofascial release, sciatic pain relief, migraine relief, relaxation, craniosacral therapy, prenatal and post partum massage. We believe what sets us apart is that our clients feel our awareness and tending to of their WHOLE self during our sessions. We approach each session as an opportunity to bring our clients' whole self into balance. Massage is more than just pain relief, it's a way to connect the mind, body and spirit. Physiologically, massage helps to alleviate pain and keeps muscle tissue healthy by increasing circulation, realigning muscle fibers, and re-lubricating connective tissues. On a neurological level massage increases relaxation and releases chemicals in your body like endorphins, serotonin, and oxytocin. These increase your sense of well-being and decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression. Much like yoga, massage allows you to be present with your body. You can really check in with yourself and see where you're holding tension and then allow yourself the time and space to release it. Massage also affects the energetic body. There is simply no way to work with somebody in that close of proximity without affecting each other's energetic field so we respect that and value healthy boundaries and energetic flow. History Established in 2017. Anam Cara Therapeutic Massage was established in January 2017 and has now expanded into Anam Cara Wellness Center, LLC. We are now happy to offer state of the art Infrared Sauna Therapy with plans to add more holistic modalities to our menu in the near future.
