Andun Engineering Consultants Ltd is a specialist UK based Engineering Consultancy with over 30 years of experience designing temporary specialist lifting equipment, and design/sequencing for complex demolition works. Our head office is located in Chelmsford, Essex. We have three other offices, in the East Midlands, West Midlands and in Edinburgh. The company was founded in 1990 to provide Engineering services to the construction industry. Since then Andun Ltd has worked on projects, both large and small throughout the UK and overseas. We have worked on numerous high profile projects, including HS1, Crossrail, Birmingham New Street Redevelopment, GWML electrification, Reading Station Redevelopment, and Loughor viaduct replacement. Examples of previous schemes include: • Working platforms for tracked plant; • Working platforms for mobile cranes, up to 1500 tonne; • Tower crane bases; • Lifting gear design; • Design of specialist cranes; • Temporary excavations; • Basement propping; • Propping schemes; • Analysis of existing structures and bridges for plant loadings; • Scaffold checking; • Access arrangements; • Assessment of fire (or other means) damaged structures; • Checking, and advising on pre-weakening structures for blowing/pulling down; • Design checks on falsework and formwork proposals; • Design of large scale crash decks, including mobile versions; • Assessment of structures for demolition; • Full sequence drawings for complex demolition schemes; We have significant experience working in the rail environment, including undertaking the CRE and CEM roles on schemes. We also have demonstratable experience working on Nuclear licensed sites. Previous works have been undertaken at Sellafield, Bradwell, Sizewell, and Devonport.
