About Anēka
This one-of-a-kind dance drama is curated by the alumni and vocational students of Gurukul Dubai and disciples of Guru Pali Chandra. The engaging script, fascinating choreographies, impactful sets and beautiful costumes guarantee an exhilarating show for the audience. Our dance drama production, titled "Aneka: Identities Dancing Within," is a mesmerizing blend of theater, music, and Kathak that explores love, conflict, and acceptance. Our show follows the story of our main character, Aneka. A courtesan and Kathak dancer in 16th century India during the Mughal Empire. She battles with dissociative identity disorder (DID) as her two alters, Rasika, described as promiscuous, and Arya, a spiteful persona, come to light. This is the story of her disorder and the support system she builds with her Guru, Begum Noor, and her friend, Aashna. Our mission is to engage, entertain, and educate. T
