ANEMOS – THE NEW WIND IN PRIVATE INVESTMENTS Anemos is an investment holding company founded in 2024, endowed with its own patient capital and investing in private equity. It positions itself as an entrepreneurial alternative to traditional financial intermediation. Anemos is part of the Samhita Group, Paolo Basilico’s family office. The private equity sector in Italy is facing a deep change generated by conflicts of interest and underperformance returns from traditional financial players. Anemos was created to capture the new wind that drives family-run investment holdings, which can put their own capital to work, having their interests aligned with companies, to directly support the Italian entrepreneurial companies. FAMILIES FOR FAMILIES The trust and alignment of interests developed over the years among Italian families are the key factors of this initiative and are not replicable by the traditional financial sponsors. The combination of resources and expertise between families and entrepreneurs captures the winds of change and introduces a new model in private equity. FOCUS ON SMES Anemos aims to invest in Italian SMEs to support both organic and external growth. The Investment Team seeks companies led by ambitious entrepreneurs mainly in B2B sectors, including: Food & Beverage, Medical Devices, ICT, Education, Nutraceuticals, Cosmetics, Precision Mechanics, and sectors with an ESG impact. Key characteristics of target companies include solid financial fundamentals, growth prospects, barriers to entry, business scalability, and businesses that have consolidated a dominant position in a market niche and/or in secular trends.
