(AAKC) was formed in 1972 by the group of 6 anesthesiologists who were providing anesthesia services at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri since the early 1960s. AAKC has grown significantly over the years, now proudly serving area hospitals & ambulatory surgery centers. In addition, AAKC provides pain management services and in 2012, expanded to provide mobile anesthesia services in office settings for over 30 different practices. AAKC employs physician anesthesiologists, CRNAs, pain management physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners and RNs, LPNs, & CMAs. The organization includes OR anesthesiology services at Research Medical Center, Research Brookside, Menorah Medical Center, Mid America Surgery Center, Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Overland Park Surgery Center, Belton Regional Medical Center, Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute, Lee’s Summit Medical Center, Research Psychiatric, Centerpoint Medical Center & Centerpoint ASC, Surgicenter of Johnson County, South Kansas City Surgery Center, and Midwest Pain Management Center. In addition, AAKC has the following divisions which provide an array of services in the region: • Pain Management Associates (PMA), the area’s largest pain management practice consisting of 8 pain management specialist physicians. • Mobile Anesthesia Care (MAC), which includes physician anesthesiologists. Office based anesthesia services are currently available in both KS & MO. • Healthcare Administrative Services (HAS), employs approximately 40 employees who provide customer service, billing, scheduling & admin support to our healthcare providers.
