About Angels Among Us- Nebraska
Over 83% of families with a child with cancer will experience some level of financial hardship. As far as we’re concerned, that’s 83% too many. At Angels Among Us, our mission is to reduce a family’s financial burdens as much as possible so that they can focus on their child. We work in cooperation with social workers at Children's Hospital & Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine to identify families in need—any family living in or being treated in Nebraska is eligible to apply. Over the last nearly 20 years, we have helped over 700 families with expenses totaling more than $5 million. But most importantly, we have helped more than 400 families read bedtime stories and play board games without the all-consuming worry of paying bills such as: -Electric, gas, sewer, water -Rent and mortgage payments -Phone and internet Auto payments, insurance, gas cards, plates and repairs -Medical bills and prescriptions -Sometimes, a family faces their worst fears and we assist with funeral expenses
